TOMORROW: Afro-Latino Perspectives in Media (Versión en Español sometido antes abajo)

Our "Afro-Latino Series" continues at the Studio Museum in Harlem with a FREE film panel discussion about Afro-Latino media this Sunday, August 16th 3-5:30pm.

We will be screening a new sample of our work-in-progress documentary "We of the Saya" (about the African descendants of Bolivia), along with three other very interesting projects about the Afro-Descendant communities of Brasil, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti!

We will be moderated by Humberto Brown, International Outreach Director of the Global Afro Latino & Caribbean Initiative (GALCI), which is a program of Hunter College, CUNY & The Franklin H. Williams Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute of New York. So we will be talking about ISSUES as well as the art of documentary filmmaking. It will be a very interesting discussion, so please join us!



Also, we will be closing our series with a painting party on August 21st with music by Geko Jones and live painting! Nuestra "Serie Afro-Latina" continúa en el Studio Museum in Harlem con un panel cinematográfico sobre los medios afro-latinos este domingo, el 16 de agosto 3-5:30pm.

Habrá una nueva muestra de nuestro documental en progreso "Nosotros los de la Saya", junto con tres otros proyectos muy interesantes sobre las comunidades de afrodescendiente de Brasil, Cuba, la República Dominicana y Haití!

La conversación será moderada por Humberto Brown, Director Internacional de Alcance del Global Afro Latino & Caribbean Initiative (GALCI), un programa de Hunter College, CUNY y el Franklin H. Williams Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute of New York.
